Kleinzadel formed on the Zadeler Flur in the 18th century, which is why it was called a district of Zadel. In 1791, Kleinzadel belonged to the Meißen office. In 1875 it was stated that he belonged to the administrative authority of Meißen . This year, small nobility has 184 inhabitants. After the place became part of the Meißen district in 1952 , the main town of Zadel and its district were incorporated into Diera on March 1, 1974 . After the unification of the two independent communities Diera and Zehren to Diera-Zehren on January 1, 1999, Kleinzadel was separated from Zadel and henceforth called the district of Diera-Zehrens.
