history
The Gassendorf on irregular field Wölkisch was in 1316 for the first time as Welcosch mentioned, and 1547 was the Erbamt Meissen properly. The manor of Skassa was the first man to rule , and from 1696 it is called its own manor. Between 1856 and 1875 the village belonged to the Meißen court office, and then to the office of the same name . In 1900 the size of the district was 219 hectares . Of 283 inhabitants in 1925, 282 were Evangelical Lutheran and one Catholic . Wölkisch was parish in Zehren and is now part of the local parish . In 1935, Oberlommatzsch and its district Windorf were incorporated into Wölkisch . In 1938 Wölkischhäuser , the previous district of Naundorf , was reclassified to Wölkisch. As a result of the district reform in 1952 , Wölkisch became an independent municipality part of the Meißen district , which expanded several times after the reunification. Wölkisch lost its independence on March 1, 1974 when it was incorporated into Zehren. Diera and Zehren merged to form Diera-Zehren on January 1, 1999, and Wölkisch has been part of this municipality since then.
