Ignas Vėgėlė

Ignas Vėgėlė (born July 22, 1975 in Vilnius ) is a Lithuanian lawyer. Since 2014 he has been President of the Lithuanian Bar Association . He is an international lawyer and EU lawyer , professor at the Mykolas-Romer University and former head of the chair for EU law.

Life

Ignas Vėgėlė's father is Algirdas Stasys Vėgėlė and mother is Eligija Vėgėlienė.

After graduating from the 6th Children's Music School in Vilnius and graduating from high school in 1993 with the silver medal at the Salomėja Nėris Middle School, Ignas studied law at the Vilniaus universitetas from 1993 to 1998 and then completed his doctorate at Lietuvos teisės from 1998 to 2002 universitetas . In 2002 he received his doctorate in EU company law on the subject of Įmonėms taikytina teisė ir pirminis risimasis Europos Bendrijos teisėje . From 2006 he taught as a lecturer in EU law at the MRU. In May 2008 he completed his habilitation at the MRU.

From 1995 to 1996 he worked in the Association of Lithuanian Lawyers ( Lietuvos teisininkų draugija ), from 1996 to 1997 as a lawyer in the law firm "Foresta", from 1997 to 2002 as a lawyer in the consulting firm " KPMG Lietuva. Auditas, apskaita, konsultacijos ”, from 2007 to 2010 as Head of the Chair of EU Law at the Mykolas-Romer University . From 2013 to 2016 he headed the Lithuanian Lawyers Association .

Vėgėlė is an attorney in the law firm “Vėgėlė, Gabartas, Šidlauskas LawHouse”. In 2013 he was a candidate for judge at the European Court of Human Rights . He has headed the Lithuanian Bar Association since 2014 .

He has a daughter and a son with his second wife, Lina Vėgėlienė.
