Margit Vanek
Margit Vanek (born February 25, 1986 in Budaörs ) is a Hungarian triathlete . She is an Olympian (2016) and Aquathlon World Champion of the year 2010.
Career
Vanek also takes part in non- ITU races, so she won the first Garmin Milano City Triathlon (July 25, 2010).
In September 2010 she became aquathlon world champion in Hungary.
In 2011 Vanek also competed in the French club championship series Lyonnaise des Eaux and represented TCG79 Parthenay. Margit Vanek starts in Hungary for the Budaörsi Triatlon Club Egyesület and she now lives in Budaörs .
In June 2013, Margit Vanek was seventh in Turkey at the European Triathlon Championships on the Olympic short distance (1.5 km swimming, 40 km cycling and 10 km running).
At the 2016 European Championships in Lisbon, she finished third in the team ranking.
2016 Summer Olympics
Margit Vanek qualified for a starting place at the 2016 Summer Olympics and finished 45th for Hungary on August 20th in Rio de Janeiro.
Her older brother Ákos (* 1984) is also active as a professional triathlete.
