Lisa Perterer (born October 16, 1991 in Villach ) is an Austrian triathlete , overall winner of the 2009 European Junior Cup, European duathlon champion (2020), multiple national champion (2005-2020) and two-time Olympic athlete (2012, 2016).

Career

State champion Aquathlon 2006

In August 2006 Lisa Perterer became national champion in aquathlon and in 2009 she also became national champion in the triathlon sprint distance in Vienna.

In the four years from 2007 to 2010 Perterer took part in eleven ITU competitions and achieved nine top ten placements. Lisa Perterer has been competing in the elite category since 2011 . At the World Cup series triathlon in Kitzbühel in June 2011 she was the only Austrian alongside Lydia Waldmüller thanks to a wildcard . At the World Cup in Edmonton, she surprisingly won the bronze medal as a junior behind Ashleigh Gentle and Mateja Šimic and was ahead of the second Austrian, Lydia Waldmüller.
The bronze medal also opened the way for her to the following World Cup series triathlon in Hamburg, where she reached 15th place and once again demonstrated her membership of the world's elite. Even at the well-filled World Cup in Tiszaújváros, Perterer asserted himself in the upper midfield of the world elite with her thirteenth place.

Lisa Perterer attended the Klagenfurt sports high school BORG SSLK until June 2011 and competes in Austria for the HSV Triathlon Carinthia . Until 2011 she was trained by Norbert Domnik and since autumn 2011 she has continued her career in the armed forces' center.

2012 Summer Olympics

Perterer was able to qualify for a starting place at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London in May , where she finished 48th on August 4th. In September she became Austrian U23 champion in the 10 km road race and at the end of the season she won her second bronze medal in a World Cup race in Mexico in October after 2011.
She is supervised by Joel Filliol and the former German triathlete Roland Knoll as an individual trainer.

Perterer was nominated in the 2013 season as the only athlete in the national team of the Austrian Triathlon Association (ÖTRV). In March 2014 she became Vice State Champion in 10 km road running behind Andrea Mayr and she won the state cross country championship. In 2014, she was the only Austrian in the triathlon world rankings in 37th place.
In 2015 she was able to improve again and came 19th in the annual ranking as the best Austrian.

2016 Summer Olympics

Lisa Perterer was next to Sara Vilic and Thomas Springer qualified for a starting place at the 2016 Olympic Summer Games. On August 11, however, the Austrian Olympic Committee announced that Perterer could not start because of a fatigue fracture and nominated Julia Hauser . In the 2016 ITU annual ranking, she came in 41st as the second best Austrian.

In June 2018 she was the first Austrian athlete to win an ITU World Cup race in Italy.

In August 2019, the then 27-year-old got a starting place for the 2020 Summer Olympics at the ITU Olympic test competition in Tokyo . In the annual ranking of the ITU World Championship Series 2019 , she finished 13th as the best Austrian after the last race in August in Switzerland. Lisa Perterer was nominated by the ÖTRV together with Alois Knabl for a starting place at the 2021 Summer Olympics, which were postponed as the coronavirus pandemic spread .

In March 2020 she became European Duathlon Champion in Spain and Austrian State Champion on the short distance triathlon in August.
