Romana Slavinec (born July 25, 1990 in Möbersdorf ) is an Austrian duathlete and triathlete . She is triathlon state champion (2013, 2014, 2016), duathlon state champion (2013), U23 world champion winter triathlon (2012), two-time vice European champion winter triathlon (2017, 2020) and nine times in a row winter triathlon champion (2010-2019).

Career

U23 Vice World Champion Winter Triathlon 2010

In February 2010 Romana Slavinec was U23 runner-up in the winter triathlon in Eidsvoll (near Oslo). In 2012 she became U23 World Champion and U23 European Champion in Italy.

Duathlon State Champion 2013

In April 2013 she became the duathlon state champion.

In January 2015 she won her sixth national champion title in the winter triathlon in a row in Styria. In January 2016 she finished third at the Winter Triathlon European Championships. At the World Championships in February in Zeltweg, she also took third place.

State champion triathlon sprint distance 2016

In June 2016 she became state champion on the triathlon sprint distance in Burgenland on Lake Neufelder.

In Estonia, she became Vice European Champion Winter Triathlon in January 2017. In Rohrbach an der Gölsen , Slavinec became Vice State Champion on the Duathlon short distance behind Sandrina Illes for the fourth and third time in a row in April 2018 . In February 2019, the then 28-year-old finished third at the ITU World Championship Winter Triathlon in Italy for the third time.

At the World Championship Winter Triathlon she finished seventh in Italy in February 2020, and three weeks later she became Vice European Winter Triathlon Champion for the second time in Romania. In August she was third at the Austrian state championship on the short distance triathlon.

Private

Romana Slavinec studied sports and movement sciences at the Karl-Franzens University in Graz and successfully completed her studies with a Master of Science degree. She is trained by her father Helmut Slavinec .
