Monika Stadlmann (born November 10, 1977 ) is an Austrian triathlete , multiple national champion (2000, 2004, 2011) and world amateur triathlon champion (2002).
Career
Monika Stadlmann was active in the gymnastics club in her youth and started her first triathlon at Wallersee in 1994. Her older brother was also active as a triathlete.
In 1999 she competed for the first time in a long distance race in Podersdorf (3.86 km swimming, 180.2 km cycling and 42.195 km running) and in 2000 she was Austrian triathlon champion in the long distance at Ironman Austria .
In 2002 she became the fastest amateur triathlon world champion on the long distance in the age group W25-29 in Nice.
Triathlon professional since 2005
Since 2005 she started as a professional triathlete. She was trained by Daniel Tagwerker and mainly started in long distance triathlon competitions. In August 2011 she won the Austrian Triathlon in Podersdorf again after 2000 and 2004 for the third time the national championship title in the long distance triathlon.
In October 2012 she won the Elbaman Triathlon in Italy on the long distance . She ended her professional career at the end of 2012 and has since started as an amateur athlete. In July 2016 she started for the 23rd time on the Ironman distance and finished 14th in the Challenge Roth .
Monika Stadlmann starts for the Tri Alpin Radstadt association .
Monika Stadlmann studied sports science. She lives in Oberalm near Salzburg.
