Tania Haiböck (born March 3, 1974 in Linz ) is a former Austrian triathlete and duathlete . She is an Olympian (2008) and multiple Austrian national champion (2002, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2008).
Career
She has been working as an elementary school teacher since 1996 and started triathlon at the same time. Tania Haiböck starts for the Zisser Enns team and she was trained by Bernhard Hiebl .
In 2002 and 2004 she became the national triathlon champion on the short distance. Since 2005 she started as a triathlon professional and in Alanya she won her first international race in the European Cup. In 2005 and again in 2006 she won the title of Duathlon State Champion.
Since October 2006 Corporal Tania Haiböck has been an army athlete in the Austrian Armed Forces . In 2007 she was second in the team competition at the European Championships in Copenhagen, together with Kate Allen and Eva Maria Dollinger .
2008 Summer Olympics
Tania Haiböck started for Austria in 2008 in Beijing at the Olympic Games, where she finished 28th. In September 2008 she became triathlon state champion on the Olympic distance for the third time on Vienna's Danube Island.
In January 2009, Haiböck announced that he wanted to take a baby break. In 2011 their second daughter was born.
Private
Tania Haiböck is married and lives near Linz with her husband, the triathlete Dietmar Haiböck and their two daughters.
