The Union Sportive des Polices d'Europe ( USPE ) is the European Police Sports Federation founded in 1950.

The European Police Sports Federation was founded as "Union Sportive des Polices d'Europe" (USPE) on the initiative of the French Police Sports Federation on November 30, 1950 in Paris. A USPE congress takes place every two years and each member state sends two delegates. The next congress will take place in 2016 in Berlin / Germany.

The aim of the USPE is to promote sport within all police forces in Europe and to coordinate the preparation, implementation and control of international competitions. For this purpose, the USPE also organizes European Police Championships in 16 sports disciplines every four years:

  • Basketball (women 2015, France; men 2017, Greece; women 2019; men 2021)
  • Cross Country (2016 United Kingdom, 2020 Belgium tested)
  • Football (men 2014, Czech Republic; women 2016, Czech Republic; men 2018, Czech Republic; women 2016, Norway; men 2022; women 2024)
  • Handball (women 2014, Netherlands; men 2016 Denmark; women 2018, Germany; men 2020 Austria tests; women 2022; men 2024)
  • Judo (2015 Germany, 2019 Hungary, 2023 Russia)
  • Athletics (2010 Ukraine, canceled, 2018 Russia, 2022)
  • Marathon (2014 Austria, 2018 Ireland, 2022 Germany)
  • Cycling (2016 Belgium, 2018 Belgium, 2020 Switzerland, 2024)
  • Wrestling (2016 Slovak Republic, 2020 Germany, 2024)
  • Shooting (2015 Turkey, 2017 Russia, 2023)
  • Swimming (2017 Germany, 2021)
  • Skiing (2017 Austria, 2021, 2025)
  • Tennis (2015 Italy, 2017 Hungary, 2021 Germany tests, 2025)

  • Triathlon (2014 Germany, 2018 Netherlands, 2022)
  • Volleyball (women 2015, Russia; men 2017, Ukraine; women 2019, Czech Republic; men 2021; women 2023; men 2025)

On the occasion of the 4th USPE Congress on September 5, 1954 in Stockholm, the German Police Sports Board (DPSK) joined the European Police Sports Association.

The USPE currently consists of 40 European nations: (as of August 2014)
Albania, Armenia, Belgium, Bulgaria, Denmark, Germany, Estonia, Finland, France, Greece, Ireland, Iceland, Italy, Croatia, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Macedonia , Moldova, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, Austria, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Switzerland, Serbia, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Spain, Czech Republic, Turkey, Ukraine, Hungary, United Kingdom and Cyprus

At the national level, this is done by the relevant associations - such as the German Police Sports Board (DPSK) or the Austrian Police Sports Association (ÖPOLSV).

The headquarters of the General Secretariat of the USPE has been in Germany since 1995 and is now in Berlin .

The European Police Achievement Badge (also known as EPLA) is awarded by the USPE for special sporting achievements that must be achieved in the four categories of endurance, strength, speed and coordination.
