Rohrbach an der Gölsen is a municipality with 1549 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020) in the Lilienfeld district in Lower Austria .
geography
Rohrbach an der Gölsen is located in the Gölsental in the Lilienfeld district in Lower Austria. The area of the municipality covers 14.77 square kilometers. 41.27 percent of the area is forested.
Community structure
The municipality includes the following four localities (population as of January 1, 2020):
- Bernreit (250) including the Bernreit settlement
- Drainage (37)
- Prunst (66)
- Rohrbach an der Gölsen (1196) including Oberrohrbach, Oberrohrbach and Unterrohrbach settlements
The community consists of the cadastral communities Bernreit, Durlaß, Oberrohrbach, Prünst and Unterrohrbach.

history
In ancient times, the area was part of the Noricum province .
During the Austrian Civil War in 1934 , two members of the Republican Protection Association were arrested in Rohrbach an der Gölsen after the Heimwehr battalion commander Hans Lintner was shot in the village of Ob der Kirche ( town of Hainfeld ). Those arrested were Johann Hois (born July 23, 1891), factory worker from Rohrbach, commander of the local Republican Protection Association, and Viktor Rauchberger (born July 20, 1908), bricklayer from Rohrbach, member of the Republican Protection Association. The court martial in St. Pölten sentenced Hois and Rauchberger to death by hanging, the execution by executioner Johann Lang took place on February 16, 1934 in the St. Pölten regional court . A tombstone for both of them was unveiled on March 29, 1974 at St. Pölten's main cemetery.

Culture and sights
- Music: The Rohrbach youth brass band was founded in 1978 and is led by chairman Erich Rosenbaum, conductor Herwig Schreiner and staff leader Josef Schweiger (2013).

In 2001 there were 44 non-agricultural workplaces, and according to the 1999 survey there were 41 in agriculture and forestry. According to the 2001 census, the number of people in employment at home was 692. The 2001 employment rate was 46.31 percent.
