geography
Kaumberg is located in the Triestingtal in Lower Austria. The area of the market town covers 43 square kilometers. 63.54 percent of the area is forested.

history
In ancient times, the area was part of the Noricum province .
In 1928 electric light found its way into the village. In the autumn of that year, in the presence of Federal President Dr. Michael Hainisch opens the power station built by the community.
In May 2005 there was an earthquake with a magnitude of 3.5 on the Richter scale ; The reason is assumed to be the former coal mining.
