The Baden district is an administrative district of the State of Lower Austria .

geography

It is the most populous in the country and is known for its thermal springs and wine, among other things. Its area is 753.64 km². It is located in the industrial district and is also assigned to the main industrial district region in spatial planning .

The district is divided by the thermal line into a flat eastern part in the Vienna Basin and a mountainous western part in the Vienna Woods . The main rivers are the Schwechat and the Triesting .

traffic

The most important traffic connections are the south autobahn A2 to the north to Vienna and south to Wiener Neustadt . In the west the Vienna outer ring is tangent to the A 21 motorway , to the east the south-east A 3 motorway .

Some railway lines cross the district, including the Austrian Southern Railway . There is also a local train from Vienna to Baden - the Badner Bahn .
