Buildings
The landmark of the place is the building of the former Teesdorf cotton mill . The reinforced concrete skeleton structure with its striking water tower, built from 1908 to 1912 according to plans by Bruno Bauer , is an important example of early architectural modernism in Austria. The spinning mill itself was founded in 1803. From 1906 to 1926, the later famous novelist Hermann Broch was assistant director or managing director of the company that his father had acquired. The spinning mill ceased operations in 1993, and the building has stood empty since then and was left to decay. In 2015, the conversion into apartments was completed and the property was saved. The tower is a listed building.
Regular events
Every year on the first weekend in August (Saturday - Monday) the Kirtagsfest takes place in the Volksheim Teesdorf. Saturday is all about youth and there is clubbing. On Sunday there is a cozy morning pint after church. Monday is also called Fried Chicken Day because of its main offer.
