history
In ancient times the area was part of the province of Pannonia . Romans and Celts have already settled on the Goldberg. Settlement before 800 AD can be assumed, in 1045 Reisenberg is mentioned for the first time in a document. In the early 13th century there was a fortification with a stone castle chapel. The associated place Rocking has been desolate since around 1500 .
After the destruction of the first Turkish siege in 1529, the place and the church were rebuilt. In 1554 the place was granted market rights, the plague raged in 1562, 1613 and 1644. In 1682 Tatars , following the Turks, devastated the place and the church was also damaged. Between 1698 and 1703 the church was largely rebuilt and renewed due to the damage. In 1721 and 1738 Kuruzen attacked the place, and the church was again affected. In April 1820 a house list was drawn up, there were 110 houses at that time. After the frequent floods in previous centuries (e.g. 1770, 1813) the Leithadamm was built in 1892.
