The Floridsdorf-Umgebung district was a political district in Lower Austria from 1906 to 1938 .

history

The district was created in 1906 due to the incorporation of Floridsdorf , capital of the Floridsdorf district , together with other communities to Vienna . The district comprised part of the former Floridsdorf district, which were the communities of Aderklaa , Deutsch-Wagram , Gerasdorf , Süßenbrunn , the part of Breitenlee that did not come to Vienna and the judicial district of Groß-Enzersdorf (excluding Aspern, which was incorporated into Vienna, and parts of Groß- Enzersdorf) and the judicial district Wolkersdorf, which previously belonged to the Korneuburg district . The district administration was based in Vienna-Floridsdorf.

As early as 1934, the Lower Austrian provincial government made efforts to terminate the district administration for financial reasons. They were not endorsed by the federal government. In 1938 the district administration was dissolved when NS- Greater Vienna was created .

With the exception of Breitenlee, Essling and Süßenbrunn, all of the municipalities attached to Greater Vienna in 1938 regained their independence in 1954. However, the district was no longer built.
