geography

Gänserndorf to the north , Marchegg to the east , Hainburg to the south and Vienna to the west are each 20 km away .

Community structure

The municipality includes the following three localities (population in brackets as of January 1, 2020):

  • Fuchsenbigl (340)
  • Haringsee (683)
  • Straudorf (160)

The community consists of the cadastral communities Fuchsenbigl, Haringsee and Straudorf.

With the Lower Austria. In order to improve the structure of the local authority , the municipality voluntarily joined forces with the municipalities of Fuchsenbigl and Straudorf on January 1, 1970 to form a large municipality called Haringsee.

Population development

According to the results of the 2001 census , there were 1133 inhabitants. In 1991 the municipality had 1074 inhabitants, in 1981 997 and in 1971 1032 inhabitants.

In 2001 there were 41 non-agricultural workplaces, and according to the 1999 survey there were 65 in agriculture and forestry. According to the 2001 census, the number of people in employment at home was 539. In 2001, the employment rate was 49.24 percent.
