Haringsee is a municipality with 1183 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020) in Marchfeld in Lower Austria .
geography
Gänserndorf to the north , Marchegg to the east , Hainburg to the south and Vienna to the west are each 20 km away .
Community structure
The municipality includes the following three localities (population in brackets as of January 1, 2020):
- Fuchsenbigl (340)
- Haringsee (683)
- Straudorf (160)
The community consists of the cadastral communities Fuchsenbigl, Haringsee and Straudorf.
With the Lower Austria. In order to improve the structure of the local authority , the municipality voluntarily joined forces with the municipalities of Fuchsenbigl and Straudorf on January 1, 1970 to form a large municipality called Haringsee.

Population development
According to the results of the 2001 census , there were 1133 inhabitants. In 1991 the municipality had 1074 inhabitants, in 1981 997 and in 1971 1032 inhabitants.

- Catholic parish church Haringsee hl. Laurenz: An early Gothic fortified church from the 14th century, which was converted to Baroque style in several stages and extended by a yoke towards the west at the beginning of the 19th century.
