history

The first documentary mention dates from 1115 . The name is derived from the "seven" (ie numerous) sources of the Stempfelbach.

In 1340 the first church was built in the form of a fortified church. In 1784 Untersiebenbrunn was raised to its own parish and incorporated into Melk Abbey.

In 1910 the graves of an East Germanic or Alani - Sarmatian princess and a child from the 5th century were found, but they did not provide any information about whether the woman and child had lived in the area or were just about to move through. Now the name Untersiebenbrunn group of this kind of graves from the 4th or 5th century is given by the archaeologists who have been found in Western and Central Europe, whose material and objects are diverse (Roman, Sarmatic, Germanic, Alanic) and mixed . There are other well-known examples in France: Airan ( Normandy ), Hochfelden ( Alsace ) and Balleure ( Burgundy ), in Germany: Fürst ( Bavaria ), Altlußheim ( Baden-Württemberg ) and Wolfsheim ( Rhineland-Palatinate ), in Portugal: Beja .
