Hauskirchen is a municipality with 1253 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020) in the Gänserndorf district in the Austrian state of Lower Austria .
geography
Hauskirchen is located in the northeastern Weinviertel in Lower Austria, approx. 15 km east of Mistelbach . The zaya flows through the community . The area covers 22.04 square kilometers. 3.95 percent of the area is forested.

history
Early written records tell of the building of a parish church and the founding of the parish around 1150 by Hugo von Liechtenstein .
On January 1, 1971, the formerly independent communities of Prinzendorf an der Zaya and Rannersdorf an der Zaya were incorporated into Hauskirchen.
Population development
According to the results of the 2001 census, there were 1265 inhabitants. In 1991 the community had 1273 inhabitants, in 1981 1364 and in 1971 1450 inhabitants.

Culture and sights
- Hauskirchen Castle: The early baroque castle, which has undergone major changes over the centuries, originally formed a fortification together with the Hauskirchen parish church. Franz Anton Pilgram was involved in the planning of the elongated baroque building of Prinzendorf Palace . The castle is owned by the artist Hermann Nitsch , who has regularly organized his "Orgy-Mystery Games" here since 1971.
- Catholic parish church house churches hl. Laurentius: The church has a Romanesque core. The Gothic choir dates from the 14th century, the north aisle and the nave vault from the 15th century. The church was redesigned and expanded in the baroque era and received its present appearance during a renovation between 1897 and 1899. The high altar and the side altar were created in 1900 by the sculptor Ludwig Linzinger .
- Catholic parish church Prinzendorf hl. Markus: The church, located on a hill, was built in the 15th century and later changed to Baroque style.
economy
In 2001 there were 26 non-agricultural workplaces, agricultural and forestry operations 61 according to the 1999 survey. According to the 2001 census, the number of people in employment at the place of residence was 530. In 2001 the activity rate was 42.76 percent.
- Hauskirchen quarry : sand-lime bricks were mined in the abandoned quarry.
