Franz Anton Pilgram

Franz Anton Pilgram (* 7. June 1699 in Feldkirchen in Carinthia ; † 28. October 1761 in Vienna ) was an Austrian architect of the baroque .

He received his training from Johann Lucas von Hildebrandt, among others .

In 1862 the Pilgramgasse and in 1867 the Pilgrambrücke in Vienna- Margareten (5th district) were named after him.

He is the father of the astronomer Anton Pilgram .

The imperial quarry

Mainly supporting architectural parts were made of the hardest Kaiserstein , so an intensive collaboration with Kaisersteinbruch masters is documented.
