Heinz and Mia Krone Foundation
The Heinz and Mia Krone Foundation was a consumption foundation based in Munich that dealt exclusively with the reintegration of wheelchair users . The foundation stopped its work at the turn of the year 2017/2018.

The foundation helped people in need who could walk earlier and had to rely on wheelchairs after an accident or illness. The foundation was recognized as charitable and therefore only supported individuals.
The foundation gave financial grants for wheelchair-specific measures that had become necessary due to life in a wheelchair , for example for the renovation of the sanitary rooms, the installation of a stairlift or the conversion of the car. The prerequisite was that the applicant could not or only partially finance the measure himself or with state funds. The foundation provided subordinate funding, i.e. when funding was only available for a partial amount or a justified refusal by government agencies or health or care funds.
The foundation also endeavored to draw attention to the situation of wheelchair users in Germany. The foundation worked together with other organizations and initiatives and worked to ensure that people in wheelchairs were viewed as equal and equal in public.
Emergence
The foundation was established in 1999 by Mia Krone. Her husband had been unable to walk since he was 18 and had to use a wheelchair since an accident in 1983 . The lack of a lobby and insufficient government support for the physically handicapped prompted Mia Krone to found the foundation after his death.
With its photo competition and exhibition barriers was Heinz and Mia Krone-Foundation for the Communication Award of the German Federal Association of Foundations nominated for the year of 2006.
