Simon Sasslaber
Simon Sass Laber (* 1673 in Feldkirchen in Carinthia ; † 25. April 1740 in Kaisersteinbruch , Hungary , today Burgenland ) was an Austrian master stonemason and sculptor of the Baroque .
Life
Simon Sasslaber hired the judge and court stone mason Ambrosius Ferrethi as an apprentice in 1687 , the acquittal took place in 1692. His father Pongratz Sasslaber once learned the mason trade with master Simone Retacco in Vienna. Simon Sasslaber, 39 years old, married Anastasia Passerinin, 49 years old, a Ferrethi daughter, widow after the judge and master Giovanni Battista Passerini , in 1712 .
Salva Guardia privilege for Kaisersteinbruch
Emperor Charles VI. renewed and confirmed on December 5, 1712 the privilege of exemption from military billeting for the masters Johann Georg Haresleben , Sebastian Regondi , Johann Paul Schilck , Elias Hügel , Johann Baptist Kral and Simon Sasslaber.
Independent quarter drawer for the imperial quarry in 1714
On December 20, 1714, the Kaiser approved and renewed the independent quarter store in Kaisersteinbruch.
The brotherhood had given him Maximilian Trumler , a nephew by marriage , as an apprentice , he acquitted him in 1724 as a journeyman . Simon and Anastasia Sasslaber had no offspring, so they sold parts of their property to the young master Maximilian on May 31, 1735 on the occasion of his marriage and the birth of a son. Anastasia Sasslaber died on June 17, 1741.

- 1710: Pottendorfer Church, with Haresleben and Franz Trumler, master builder Franz Jänggl .
- 1713–1716: Palais Daun-Kinsky on the Freyung in Vienna, with Johann Georg Haresleben .
- 1715–1728: Karlskirche in Vienna , initially with Haresleben, then Elias Hügel .
- 1717–1721: Valtice Castle , then Lower Austria, now the Czech Republic. Stone blocks prepared in the manner of stonemasons for sculptures, sculptor Giovanni Giuliani and pupil Benedict Sondermayer.
- 1720: Kaisersteinbruch Church , one of the constructors of the high altar .
- 1720–1725 Upper Belvedere stone carvings, the fountain systems with the cascade in the garden were added to the building. The masters of the brotherhood Elias Hügel, Johann Paul Schilck , Johann Baptist Kral , Simon Sasslaber, Joseph Winkler and Franz Trumler worked in comradeship .
- 1721–1723: Leopoldstadt barracks , with Eggenburg co-master Andreas Steinböck , who built the Eggenburg plague column .
- 1732–1735: House for the poor and the disabled in Vienna , Alsergrund , extension by 3 new courtyards, private foundation v. Hofkammer-Rat Freiherr Ferdinand Ignaz von Thavonat left 600,000 guilders in his will (July 7, 1726) for the poor house . Architect Franz Anton Pilgram , student of Johann Lucas von Hildebrandt . - Church foundation of Anastasia of 300 guilders, for the deceased Ferreth family, for the married couple, for the honorable stonemasonry and for the St. Sebastian and Rochus brotherhood. Written in the original with gold letters.
