Franz Trumler (* 1687 in Kaisersteinbruch , Western Hungary , today Burgenland ; † 13. May 1745 ibid) was an Italian master stonemason and sculptor of the Baroque .

Life

Trumler was the eldest son of master stonemason Martin Trumler and Maria Elisabetha Ferrethin . His siblings were Maria Regina, Ambrosius and Maximilian . He was the apprentice of the then judge Giovanni Battista Passerini . His acquittal as a journeyman took place in 1704. It can be assumed that he wanted to take over the stonemasonry from his father, who however died in 1705. So his mother, as a master stonemason, had to marry again according to the guild rules . She chose the young journeyman Elias Hügel , who immigrated from Gemünden am Main in Franconia and learned the trade from her father, the court stone mason Ambrosius Ferrethi and, after his death, from her husband. They got married on November 14, 1706. Trumler was only 6 years younger than his stepfather , who was also a German stonemason.

He married Eva Rosina N. (* 1692), together they acquired the property of the Prague court stone mason Giovanni Pietro della Torre on August 20, 1713 , who had died in 1711. He was now the leaseholder of a quarry, the monastery Heiligenkreuz as a rule did not allow any property .

On December 20, 1714, the Kaiser approved and renewed the independent quarter store in Kaisersteinbruch.

On November 20, 1746, the heirs sold the property, a quarry and two houses, to the young master stonemason, Johann Gehmacher , who had immigrated from Salzburg .

Conflicts between the masons

Dispute between the masters Franz Trumler and Joseph Winkler in 1719. Topic: Damage to the Winkler house from rubble and dung.

“The defendant Franz Trumler is said to have the two walls (which he was allowed to build up on court day 1718 to court his court) as soon as possible and to have the intended place in the alleyway at the beginning of the fountain. Furthermore, he should let Trumler dig a proper manure pit at the corner against the Winklerische Stadl wall within his yard. So that Winkler's house and quarry are no longer damaged. "

Additional information: The original neighbor of the Trumler was Sebastian Regondi . Regondi died in November 1717, the widow Anna Christina stayed in the house with a few small children. In February 1719 she married the master Joseph Winkler from the Eggenburg area.

Salva Guardia Privilegium 1743

Consilium Regni, Royal Decree of Maria Theresa on May 4, 1743. In a petition to the Empress (Queen) - Sacracissima Regia Majestas - the master stonemasons asked for the privilege to be extended.

“That of the Roman Emperor Charles VI. Salva Guardia privilege granted in 1712 is renewed and confirmed to the master stonemasons Elias Hügel , Joseph Winkler , Johann Baptist Regondi , Maximilian Trumler , Johann Paul Schilck and Franz Trumler . "
