Martin Trumler
Martin Trumler (* 1651 in the Como district , Italy ; † March 20, 1705 in Kaisersteinbruch , Hungary, today Burgenland) was an Italian master stonemason of the Baroque era .
Life
In 1665 Martin became an apprentice to the master stonemason Ambrosius Ferrethi in the imperial quarry on Leithaberg . His teacher organized the major stonemason contract for the construction of the new building in the Vienna Hofburg , the Leopoldine wing. The Kaiserstein , a hard limestone, again showed its special position. The master was the tenant of the forest quarry with this very stone, with which the Romans already worked. In 1670 Martin was acquitted as a journeyman .
Marriage to the Ferrethi clan
In 1680, the 28-year-old era of Ambrosius Regondi as a judge ended; Ferrethi was his successor. The master stonemason Ferrethi valued the work of his journeyman Martin so much that he blessed the marriage pact when he asked for the hand of his daughter Maria Elisabetha . Martin Trumler won the best game in the quarry in 1684.

Work for the Princes of Liechtenstein
Ferrethi formed a construction company with his two sons-in-law Giovanni Battista Passerini and Martin Trumler and was able to accept large orders. When he died on February 22, 1696 at the age of 69, the wealthy widow Catharina, 56 years old, married the Austrian journeyman Johann Georg Haresleben , 25 years old, from Eggenburg . In 1708 the 37-year-old widower Haresleben will marry the daughter of Martin Trumler, Regina, later known as Maria Regina Sünnin. Often spouses did not belong to the same generation.
Tax list 1699

death
His wife Maria Elisabetha was pregnant with their fifth child in the spring of 1705, when Martin died on March 20 at the age of 54. The boy Maximilian was born on October 6, 1705.
Widow Maria Elisabetha Trumlerin married the German journeyman Elias Hügel from Gemünden am Main on November 14, 1706 . One of the witnesses was the Viennese master stonemason Johann Carl Trumler . According to the dates of his life he could have been her brother-in-law .
Her father had taken on the boy Elias as an apprentice, who had then finished with her husband. At 25, he was only 6 years older than her eldest son, Franz Trumler . Franz hired the current judge Giovanni Battista Passerini, his uncle, as an apprentice boy, his acquittal took place in 1704. It can be assumed that Franz had hoped to take over the stonemasonry from his father, whose death changed all that.
The Epitaph of Martin Trumler is next to the arcade of Kaiserstein Brucher Church . The text says
- ALLHERE IS RESTING THE HONOR MARTIN TRUMLER / GEWESTER STONMETSTER ALLHIER / HIS AGE 54 / DIED THE 20TH MARTII ANNO 1705 / GOD GRANT IME A MERRY RISING AND US A SINGLE ENT. AMEN.
