Ambrosius Regondi
Ambrose Regondi (* 1608 in the Duchy of Milan ; † 24. December 1681 in Kaisersteinbruch , Hungary, today Burgenland) was an Italian master stonemason and sculptor of the Baroque . He was the brother of Giorgio Regondi and is one of the Magistri Comacini .
Life
Elisabeth Bregnin, daughter of master mason Antonius Bregno , married master Pangratz Rosso in 1633. The bride brought a house and a quarry into the marriage. Rosso died, the widow married the journeyman Ambrosius Regondi. She died on August 19, 1642. His first apprentice was Domenicus Morelli from Riva San Vitale in 1641 .

Master Maderno versus Master Ambrosius Regondi
Abbot Michael Schnabel wrote:… on December 13, 1650 Mr. Richter appeared before me complaining in the quarry Master Maderno that Master Ambrosius Regondi was screaming about him in front of the whole world for having defrauded him for some money, probably 80 guilders. That was an abuse of his honor , Master Ambrosius had to repay him for it, and publicly atone in the presence of the masters and journeymen . Thereupon Master Ambrosius was punished for the two door frames in the new mill . So he didn't get paid for his job.
28 years of Kaisersteinbrucher Richter
When the church was consecrated on July 30, 1652, there was a scandal . Because of these incidents, Ambrosius Regondi succeeded the ennobled court sculptor Pietro Maino Maderno as the new judge. In 1653, the Heiligenkreuz Abbey was able to enforce all demands as an authority through a "noble" commission. Since then, the family Regondi in will archive the University of Vienna and Altenburg as ennobled referred.

Stone deliveries for the Palatine Paul Pálffy
On February 21, 1653, Palatine Paul Pálffy , the abbot of Heiligenkreuz Michael Schnabel , once again informed him about large stone deliveries: I wanted to bring me several loads of stone from the quarry to Thonau . In order to collect the required 200 loads, neighbors are added with several wagons .
Buying a quarry
In the presence of the rulers and the Viennese master Adam Haresleben , then master builder of St. Stephan and Bartholomäus Khöll , imperial court stonemason, a purchase contract was concluded on September 16, 1655. Since master Hans Herstorffer had died, the widow and heiress left the Kaisersteinbrucher property to the judge and master Ambrosius Regondi for sale.

Death 1681
Master Ambrosius Regondi died on December 24, 1681 at the age of 73, he served as judge for 33 years. In January 1681 his younger brother, Master Giorgio Regondi, died, his sons had chosen the spiritual path, Sebastian was the only secular heir. Widow Angela Regondin and son Sebastian acquired the entire Regondi property. Sebastian Regondi learned the stonemason trade in the Dombauhütte at St. Stephan in Vienna.

Abbot Clemens Schaeffer logged ... Lordly vaulted cellar , in the year 1669 is allda in a quarry on Anger dug near the Church a cellar and been together with a double box, manufactured it. The length in light is 16 Clafter , the width 4 Clafter, cost 1,000 thalers . It is a stately deep cellar and very cold, is served by us (from Heiligenkreuz Abbey) from Georgi to Michaeli in the same wine, but from Rochi day one and another barrel of wine is placed in the community inn ... but out of sheer grace .
