The first news of Anthony's Aufdingung on 16 August 1658 by the sculptor David Weiss from Wiener Neustadt . With its own cathedral construction hut , Wiener Neustadt was the main store of the stonecutter and bricklaying trade for southern Lower Austria as far as Hungary, Eisenstadt, Ödenburg, Purbach and the Imperial Quarry on Leithaberg . The main guarantors of Antonius were the master stonemason and judge of the Kaisersteinbruch Ambrosius Regondi and master Giovanni Battista Bagutti, his father Donatus Pery and his teacher the upper burghers.

Imperial armory

At the time, Weiss was working at the Upper Imperial Armory in Vienna's Renngasse . Entry in the Hofzahlamtsbüchern ... David Weiss, citizens to Neustatt asked to pay the ihme, vermög one with Peter Concorz sel., Gewesten Hofbauschreiber erected Contracts , verfertigte work in the upper imperial armory in Vienna . Here Pery did his first exercises.

Imperial quarry

In the 1660s, Emperor Leopold I had a new building built in the Vienna Hofburg , the Leopoldnischer Trakt. The empress widow after his father Ferdinand III. , the Italian Eleonore von Gonzaga , financed a completely new architecture for Vienna, the facade of the church at the court , the Jesuits rebuilt their profession house at the court etc. and Kaisersteinbruch masters were involved in everything.

The Italian master stonemason Johann Lorentisch married Anna Catharina Retacco, daughter of the imperial master builder Simone Retacco , on January 9, 1661 in St. Stephen's Cathedral in Vienna. Pery worked as a journeyman at Lorentisch. The facade and the arbor of the church to the nine choirs of angels meant an interesting, novel task. Lorentisch died on April 7, 1666. His 25-year-old widow Anna Catharina chose Antonius Pery for her husband. In 1668, as a master craftsman, he was entered in the land register with half a quarry and a house.

Homeowner in Vienna

The "Retaccin" inherited a house in Vienna on Wittwercherstrasse, now Wipplingerstrasse, at the corner of Jordangasse. On October 3, 1680, Pery received the citizenship deed in Vienna and was a house owner. Anna Catharina died on October 14, 1681 at the age of 40. Its epitaph is next to the sacristy door of the Kaisersteinbruch Church . The inscription reads:

ALHIE LIGT BURIED WIFE ANNA CATHATINA PERIN, BORN REDACCIN, DIED ON OCTOBER 14, 1681 AT THE AGE OF 40. GOD GIVE YOU ETERNAL PEACE AND A FRELICH RESURRECTION AND A BLESSED ENTITY TO ALL OF US. AMEN.

Antonius then married Anna Kleinschrothin, the sister of the prefect of the boys' school in Heiligenkreuz Abbey , Balthasar Kleinschroth .

Escape from the Turks

When the Turkish war broke out in full in July 1683, the prefect and the singing students fled Heiligenkreuz. With them was brother-in-law Antonius Pery and the blacksmith of the village Tobias Hackenberger. The plundering Tartar troops poured out over Kaisersteinbruch, Königshof , northern Burgenland and the adjacent quarter under the Vienna Woods, almost no settlement was spared. The blacksmith came back, Pery's whereabouts are not known.

His son Johannes Pery , born in 1670, also a master stonemason, married the Viennese master daughter Catharina Herstorfferin in 1697 .

Maybe he was related to the sculptor and plasterer Franciscus Antonius Pery , who designed baroque ornaments in various churches in Brussels .
