Andre de Luca

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Andre de Luca (also Andre Lucaß, * possible Wiener Neustadt , † 1658 in Kaisersteinbruch ) was an Italian-Swiss master stonemason , elected court jury and church father .

family

The handicraft of the stonemasons and masons in Kaisersteinbruch was an independent quarter store of the main store in Wiener Neustadt . The de Luca family was among the most important artists who came to Neustadt from the south and settled here. The master stonemason Stephan de Luca is first mentioned when he bought a house with a garden in Baumgartgasse in 1549. He worked for the city, he was also employed at the citizen hospital. He died in 1562. In 1580 his son was named Andreas de Luca. He cannot therefore be the person described here.

Stephen's younger brother Lucas de Luca became a citizen , in 1591 he became a member of the external council, and from 1596 to 1599 he was a member of the internal council. He built a lot for private individuals, the building of the predicant in 1569 , and died in 1600. The bricklayer Valentin de Luca, perhaps a third brother of Stephan and Lucas, is mentioned in the later 1570s. He died in 1612.

Lucaß - Lucches (e)

It is possible that the name Luca, Lucaß is derived from Lucches (e). The Kaisersteinbrucher master stonemason Andre Lucaß was a contemporary of the imperial court architect Filiberto Lucchese . The collaboration with Kaisersteinbruch has already been documented for some imperial buildings. The Wiener Neustädter De Luca could have immigrated from Pambio (now part of Lugano ).
