Andre Ruffini (also called Roffin, Rofin, * 1590 in the Como district , Lombardy , Italy ; † September 1648 in Kaisersteinbruch , Hungary , now Burgenland ) was an Italian master stonemason and sculptor of the Renaissance and the first judge in the quarry.

The bricklayer Moritz von Rofin, a Welsch immigrant, acquired a corner house in Wiener Neustadt in 1539 in the Frauenviertel. On the same day, Rofin buys a farmstead in Ungargasse. Moritz died in 1546. Maybe a relative.

Life

The stonemason trade in Kaisersteinbruch belonged to the main Wiener Neustadt smelter , whose trade regulations governed all guild customs such as work clothes , assignment, acquittal , etc. In 1617 , together with Baden , the status of an independent quarter store was given. Margaretha Ruffinin, first founder of the church

Abbot Christoph Schaffer from Heiligenkreuz Abbey and authority in Holy Cross Quarry logged 1653, "anno 1617 lived an old woman in the quarry, Margaretha Ruffinin which with the intention that a chapel or Kirchel should begin to build, donated ten buckets of wine." Daughter Justina dies

Their only child, daughter Justina, died on June 24, 1620 at the age of 3. The grave slab of Justina is currently in private ownership, the inscription reads:

First judge in Kaisersteinbruch

Ruffini - Maderno

The widow Agatha married in 1649 to Brucker citizen Johann Selinger. After his death Georg Strasser, a citizen of Baden, sold the house including the quarry and several gardens to the Viennese master stonemason Hans Herstorffer on July 24, 1651 .
