Paul Cleritz
Paul Cleritz (* 1613 in Kaisersteinbruch (Western Hungary, today Burgenland ), † 30 June 1659 ibid) was an Italian master stonemason and sculptor of the Baroque . Cleritz is the Germanized form of an Italian name, perhaps Clerici.
Life
In 1603 the name Cleritz was first mentioned in Kaisersteinbruch. Andre Cleritz paid the Heiligenkreuz Abbey as an authority for the house and garden. No date was added later ... Cleritz is said to be dead, and there are two of his children. Master Pietro de Magistris († 1628) received the "enjoyment" of the house in return for payment; it was not allowed to be sold until a child could take possession of it.
Journeyman Cleritz follows his master Maderno
Paul Cleritz, son of Andre Cleritz, became an apprentice of master Pietro Maino Maderno in 1627 , his acquittal as a journeyman took place in 1632, after which the house came to his master. The years before Maderno worked from 1623 under the direction of the architect Giovanni Giacomo Tencalla on the construction of the Loreto chapel for St. Anne's Church in Nikolsburg . The client was Cardinal Franz Xaver von Dietrichstein .
Prince Karl Eusebius of Liechtenstein summoned Maderno to Eisgrub Castle to design fountains for the water features . Journeyman Paul followed his master, subsequently to Schloss Butschowitz , to Klosterneuburg Abbey . At one of these stations he had married Apollonia.
The plague in Kaisersteinbruch
When he finally returned to Kaisersteinbruch, he could no longer find many of his neighbors because of the raging plague . In 1646 alone, Father Georg Dräxl, master stonemason Mathias Edlinger with wife Cunigunde, master Antonius Purisol , master Margaretha Petruzzy , Anna Prantnerin, journeyman bricklayer Michael Partschaffer, Simon Habich died. The Viennese master Hans Herstorffer buys a quarry
On the day of judgment on July 29, 1647, two church fathers, Andre de Luca and Paul Cleritz, were appointed to follow precise instructions to control income and expenditure. In official letter of Kaiserstein Brucher Brotherhood he signed as Zechgeselle on behalf of all fellows. When writing in 1651, for example , the masters and journeymen pledged that none of them would take care of Hans Herstorffer's quarry .

Cleritz was very devoted to his master Maderno. Only when he died in 1653 did he apply for a master's position.
The Heiligenkreuz as authorities lifted in 1653 with a list of all the Easter confession and Holy. Communion beneficiaries on the one hand the 125 residents in the quarry , at the same time a list of houses was created. Mrs. Apollonia, the boy Wolf, the servant Georg, the Schüttscheiber Jacob and Margaretha Kurlin lived with master mason Paul Cleritz.
Death 1659
Paul Cleritz died on June 30, 1659. In February 1661 the inventory was made . Apollonia, the widow of Paul Cleritz, married after clearance of the two children Hans Milleschitz and let him in the house and two gardens Land Register Enter. After Milleschitz died of the plague and Apollonia remained dead in the 1683th Turkish bustle , the property came to the butcher Valentin Baumann. The quarry had been sold to the judge Ambrosius Ferrethi .
