On October 5, 1642, the apprentice Adam was acquitted as a journeyman in front of the main hut in Vienna. The Eggenburger Stone, now called Zogelsdorfer Stone , a sculptural stone that is easy to work with, was one of the most important Viennese building stones.

On November 7th, 1651, he was given the masterpiece before an honorable trade, and he also presented it to Oberzechmeister Martin Störr on January 3rd, 1652. And because it was inadequate to pay him 9 fl as a fine, even if it was paid correctly . Almost every future master had to pay fines.

He designed a statue of Maria Immaculate on a prismatic pillar , the long pass profile decorated with rosettes and tools of suffering , named Harislem 1651 on the way from Kühnring to Maria Dreieichen .

The brothers Adam and Alexander moved from Kühnring near Eggenburg to Vienna (maybe the whole family). Adam was married to Barbara, she was 32 years older, so he had no children.

After the death of master stonemason and sculptor Johann Jacob Pock , the widow continued the trade in Roßau im Alsergrund until 1653. She did not remarry, so the brotherhood appointed Master Adam Haresleben as her successor. From 1654 to 1682 he was recognized as a wealthy home owner through his tax payments.

Contract in the imperial quarry

Catharina Herstorfferin, widow after Hans Herstorffer , former master builder of St. Stephen's Church and senior ecclesiastical master of the Viennese building works, came to Kaisersteinbruch on September 16, 1655 . She had the master stonemason Adam Haresleben, master builder at St. Stephen's Church and Bartholomäus Khöll , both in Vienna, as her assistance in signing the contract.

A purchase contract has been concluded with Master Ambrosius Regondi , judge in the imperial quarry, she sells her peculiar Stainbruch, Hauß, Garten and two herb gardens in Ermelten Stainbruch , all together for 1,020 fl. This amount was paid immediately in cash.

Master builder for St. Stephan

In the brotherhood book of the main hut in Vienna you can read ... in 1654, October 26th, I was Adam Haresleben, born in Austria in Kühnring, and became a master builder at the praiseworthy cathedral monastery, all here in Vienna. God grant his blessing as long as God does what he wants. So it is . His authority was Prince Archbishop Philipp Friedrich Graf von Breuner . Breuner came from an Austrian noble family and had studied in the Roman seminary Collegium Germanicum , once established by the founder of the Jesuit order Ignatius von Loyola . From 1669, Bishop Wilderich Freiherr von Waldendorff , Privy Imperial Councilor and Imperial Vice Chancellor , followed; he was also trained at the Collegium Germanicum.

On June 10, 1656 he was head of the colliery as Oberzechmeister.

Coffin of the colliery

Master Otto Sewaldt decreed on June 7th 1647 in his last will .. which stainmetz and mason master for a pair of cloth - 10 fl . An entry in the guild book of November 25, 1656 proves that under head superior Adam Haresleben a cloth of black velvet and a silver-embroidered cross with ornate gold-embroidered ornaments was made around 195 fl. It has survived to our day. (Meeting room of the state guild of the construction industry)

In 1679 a coffin was also made for the journeymen, 63 fl .

Master Adam accepted the boy Mathias Wimmer von Sommerein in the Leithagebirge as an apprentice on October 10, 1671 . The summer stonemasonry was incorporated into the quarter drawer in the imperial quarry. He was acquitted as a journeyman on October 25, 1676.

Wooden stonemason altar of Saints Peter and Paul

Altar of stonemasons and masons

In 1677, the master builder was Adam Haresleben, who had the craft of stonemasons and masons made under the organ foot by St. Peter and Paul . For the wooden altar, the carpenter Gregor Wolff, the painter Tobias Pock for the sheet with St. Peter and Paul and the four crowned ones, the sculptor Mathias Gunst for the statues, the painter Johannes Kheisel for the setting.

At the end of the 17th century the colliery had reached the peak of its financial possibilities. A lack of funds was therefore no reason for the execution in wood. In order not to prefer any of the stone types in question, and thus to bring the masters into strife, Solomonic decided on wood.

death

His wife Barbara died on January 11, 1683, 32 years older than him. In the death logs we read - Adam Haresleben, master builder and stonemason, his wife Barbara, died at the stroke at the age of 88 . In the same year the master builder also closed his eyes, he passed away on August 29, 1683. Alda died on the breakthrough, aged 56 .

Epitaph in the church at Kühnring

Some Eggenburg master stonemasons were characterized by prosperity and a love of pomp, their own stone was no longer enough for them for grave slabs. The two Kühnring master Simon Haresleben († 1664) and his son Adam received magnificent epitaphs made of white and red marble in richly inlaid work. His grave inscription reports about Adam -
