Virginijus Baltušnikas (born October 22, 1968 in Panevėžys ) is a former Soviet and Lithuanian football player who played for Žalgiris Vilnius in the Lithuanian A Lyga and for Lokomotive Nizhny Novgorod in the Russian Premier League .

Career

Baltušnikas was the first ten years of his career at Žalgiris Vilnius under contract and was able to play 39 games during this time, where he won the Baltic League in 1990 . However, since he was never able to earn a regular place, he was loaned out twice, to Pakhtakor Tashkent and to his only station in Germany, 1. FC Magdeburg . In Magdeburg, he was supposed to help qualify for the new regional league . After missing the qualification of the FCM, he went back to Vilnius, from where he moved to Lokomotive Nizhny Novgorod for two years in 1996. Despite 41 missions in two seasons, he moved back to Lithuania, where he ended his career after the stations Žalgiris Vilnius and Ekranas Panevėžys .

Baltušnikas played in 42 missions for the Lithuanian national soccer team and scored nine goals.
