geography

Markgrafneusiedl is located east of Vienna and southeast of Deutsch-Wagram in Marchfeld , part of the Weinviertel . The area of ​​the municipality covers 19.82 square kilometers. 8.07 percent of the area is forested.

The place is on the step of the Wagram .

history

The place was mentioned in a document in 1231.

The location was the pivotal point of the decision in the Battle of Wagram in 1809, battle signing points are located at the church ruins, at the rectory and at the crypt of the parish church.

Population development

According to the results of the 2001 census , there were 828 inhabitants. In 1991 the community had 739 inhabitants, 685 in 1981 and 675 in 1971.
