The TV Lemgo (officially: Turnverein Lemgo von 1863 eV ) is a sports club from Lemgo in the Lippe district . The women's triathlon team was twice runner-up in the Bundesliga .

history

The association was founded on June 13, 1863. After the end of the Second World War , the club merged on September 16, 1945 with BV Lemgo and the Lemgo workers' sports club to form TBV Lemgo . The background to the merger was an order by the Allied occupying power, after there was only one sports club in cities with fewer than 20,000 inhabitants. On January 4, 1952, TV Lemgo was re-established as a spin-off, with TBV Lemgo retaining its name. In 1987, TV Lemgo received the Federal President's sports badge from the incumbent Richard von Weizsäcker .

With over 3200 members, TV Lemgo is the largest sports club in the Lippe district. The club offers badminton , basketball , cheerleading , cricket , fit, aerobics & dance , handball , juggling , running / walking , athletics , modern pentathlon , swimming , triathlon, gymnastics , fun and games and volleyball . In earlier times there were baseball and cycling .

Triathlon

The department was established in 1988. Under the name KOMET Team TV Lemgo , the women's team was runner-up in the Triathlon Bundesliga in 2015 and 2016. In addition, the Lemgoers secured third place in 2014 and 2017. At the end of the 2017 season, the team had to be withdrawn for financial reasons. Clemens Coenen , Emma Jeffcoat , Lena Meißner , Lucie Reed and Maik Twelsiek started for TV Lemgo .

Handball

The handball department was founded in 1923 and produced Volker Zerbe, a German national player. Since 1998 there has been a merger in the amateur and youth sector with TBV Lemgo under the name HSG Handball Lemgo . In April 2018 they formed the HandbALL Lippe team with the first men's team from HSG Augustdorf / Hövelhof .

volleyball

The volleyball department has existed since 1976. The actress Elda Sorra played in the national league for TV Lemgo.
