Axel Zeebroek (born July 25, 1978 in Dinant ) is a former Belgian triathlete and Olympian (2008).

Career

Axel Zeebroek started triathlon in 1997.

Triathlon professional since 2002

He was trained by Bart Decru and started for the EJOT Team TV Buschhütten .

At the European Triathlon Championship (short distance), he finished eighth in May 2008.

2008 Summer Olympics

In September 2008 Zeebroek started in Beijing at the Summer Olympics, where he finished 13th as the best Belgian athlete.

Since 2009 he has also started the long-distance triathlon ( Ironman : 3.86 km swimming, 180.2 km cycling and 42.195 km running).

At the end of 2014, the then 36-year-old declared his active time over.

Axel Zeebroek lives in Bastogne , where he works as a coach and event organizer.
