Liana Dumitrescu

Liana Dumitrescu (born January 20, 1973 in Craiova , Dolj district , Romania ; † January 27, 2011 in Bucharest ) was a Romanian politician who campaigned in particular for the Macedonian minority in Romania.

biography

After attending school, Liana Dumitrescu studied law at the University of Bucharest and graduated in 1996 with a licentiate . After a brief subsequent activity as a lawyer , she joined the legal department of the Chamber of Deputies ( Camera Deputaților ) in 1997 and was promoted to office manager there in 2001.

She has been involved in the organization of the Macedonian minority ( Asociația Macedonenilor din România ) since 2000 and became its vice-president in 2003. In addition, she represented the interests of the organization between 2001 and 2004 in the National Council of Minorities ( Consiliului Minorităților Naționale ) and was director of the publishers Editura Macedoneanul and Publicația Macedoneanul during this time .

In the election on November 28, 2004, she was finally elected a member of the Chamber of Deputies and was a member of the Chamber of Deputies as a representative of the Macedonian minority until her death. After the parliamentary elections in Romania on November 30, 2008 , she was re-elected as a member of the Chamber of Deputies. During this time she was a member of the Legal, Disciplinary and Immunity, Information Technology and Communication and Rules of Procedure committees.

On January 18, 2011, Liana Dumitrescu reported with a severe headache at the Elias University Hospital in Bucharest. The doctors diagnosed a thrombosis from which the MP died a few days later.
