Rebecca Robisch (born April 4, 1988 in Roth ) is a German duathlete and triathlete . She is multiple youth champion and German triathlon champion on the sprint distance (2011).

Career

Rebecca Robisch has been running triathlons since 1998 and was active as a sports soldier in the Bundeswehr in the B-squad until 2016 . From 2003 to 2006 she was the German youth duathlon champion for four years in a row and in 2007 she also became a youth triathlon champion in Munich.

After graduating from high school in 2007, Rebecca Robisch studied during her time as a sports soldier at the German University for Prevention and Health Management , where she completed a dual study program as a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in fitness economics in 2011. She then started a model course in prevention and health management at the same university, which she completed in 2015.

In 2009 she had to sit out for a few months because of glandular fever . In the 2014 World Championship racing series ( ITU World Championship Series 2014 ), she finished 22nd as the best German.

German champion triathlon sprint distance 2011

In August 2011 she became German triathlon champion on the sprint distance in Grimma (0.75 km swimming, 20 km cycling and 5 km running). In 2013 she was runner-up behind Anne Haug .

She has been competing in the Triathlon Bundesliga since 2013 for the EJOT Team TV Buschhütten and won the championship with her team in 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016, before she competed for TV 1848 Erlangen .

In France, she won the French club championship Grand Prix de Triathlon for Saint-Raphaël Triathlon in 2015 . She finished the triathlon world championship racing series 2015 over ten races as the best German in thirteenth place. Until 2016 she was a member of the B-team of the German Triathlon Union .

Qualification Olympic Games 2016

In the two-year qualification period for a starting place at the 2016 Olympic Games , Rebecca Robisch achieved the best position among German athletes on the ITU Olympic qualification list with 19th place, but did not meet the athletic qualification criteria agreed by the DTU and DOSB . After the DTU , in addition to Anne Haug, nominated four athletes who also did not meet the German criteria and were all placed worse than Robisch in the international ranking and cited "team tactical and association political reasons", Claudia Wisser, as a judge at the sports arbitration tribunal, decided that she was also subsequently proposed by the DTU for a start in Rio. In addition, the district court in Frankfurt am Main , which Robisch had called upon, decided that the DOSB had to reorganize the triathlon nominations. This new regulation resulted in a nomination by Laura Lindemann .

In July 2016 Robisch announced her resignation from the national triathlon team.

In October 2017, the 29-year-old was able to win the Cologne Marathon at her first marathon start with a time of 2:42:59 hours and she took the victory here again in 2018. In December 2017 and again in 2018 she was able to successfully defend her title in the Desert Dash extreme bike race over an off-road route of 369 km in Namibia.

Robisch lives in Saarbrücken .
