German institution for arbitration
The German Institution for Arbitration e. V. ( DIS ) is a registered association for the promotion of German and international arbitration . It supports parties in the implementation of arbitration proceedings for a fee , provides rules for this, appoints arbitrators upon request and promotes science and teaching of arbitration law. She is the editor of the magazine for arbitration proceedings published by Verlag CH Beck , as well as the DIS series of publications, and operates a database with the case law of German courts on arbitration law.
history
The DIS was created on January 1, 1992 through the merger of the German Committee for Arbitration. V. (DAS) (founded in 1920) with the German Institute for Arbitration (DIS) (founded in 1974). It is a registered association based in Berlin . The main office is in Bonn , further offices in Berlin and Munich . In 2014, 132 new proceedings were initiated in which the DIS is named as the arbitration institution .

The association has a board of 18 members. Currently (as of December 2016) Herbert Kronke is the chair.
regulate
In addition to the DIS arbitration rules from 1998 and supplementary rules for accelerated proceedings (2008) and corporate law disputes (2009), the DIS has also been providing mediation rules , arbitration reports and adjudication rules since 2010 .
