New Year's Eve run Munich
The Munich New Year's Eve run is a 10 km (or 5 km) running event that has been held annually on New Year's Eve in Munich since 1984 and is one of the popular runs in Bavaria with the most participants .
history
In 1987 PSV Munich took over the entire organization. In 1989 a school run was added to the program. In 1992 and 1993 the elite started in separate races (10 km for men, 5 km for women). Since 1996, time has been measured using a transponder . The MRRC Munich , which has been involved in the organization of the run since 1997, has been the sole organizer since 2000.
route
The course runs through the Olympic Park , with start and finish at the old cycling hall (Event Arena). It consists of a smaller loop south of the Olympiaberges and a larger loop that leads over the Georg-Brauchle-Ring to the former Olympic village and returns to the starting point east and south of the Olympic lake. Disabilities from snow and ice must be expected.
