Dagmar Matthes (* 1968 ) is a former German triathlete . She is a two-time German triathlon champion on the long distance (2008, 2010).

Career

Dagmar Matthes has been running triathlons since 1996. Between 1999 and 2005 she won the Rothsee Triathlon five times over the short distance . In 2005 she was third in the German championship in the middle distance at the Mönchshof Triathlon .

In 2008 Dagmar Matthes became German champion in the long-distance triathlon at Challenge Roth (3.8 km swimming, 180 km cycling and 42.2 km running) and the then 42-year-old was able to repeat this success in 2010. In 2013 she finished second in the Rothsee Triathlon. In June she was able to qualify for the fifth time for the Ironman World Championship in Hawaii at Ironman France in Nice, where she finished ninth in the age group W45-49 in October. Matthes has not appeared internationally since 2013.

Dagmar Matthes works as a team leader in application development at the Bavarian State Tax Office.
