Katharina Grohmann (born January 28, 1987 in Bautzen ) is a German duathlete and triathlete . She was active as a German athlete until 2009 and is the current German champion in the long-distance triathlon (2018).
Career
In 2007 Katharina Grohmann came third in the German Athletics Championships in the 10 km road race in the team classification.
She has been running triathlon since 2010 and started as a professional in 2013. In addition to the triathlon, she works at Hassia Mineralquellen GmbH & Co. KG as a fitness and health trainer. In July 2018, she celebrated her greatest success to date with 2nd place at the Ironman Hamburg , which means that she also won the German triathlon championship title in the long distance. In October 2016 and 2018 she finished third at the Ironman Taiwan . At the Frankfurt City Triathlon , she was third in the middle distance in August 2017.
At the 70.3 Ironman distance, the then 32-year-old was able to take third place at Ironman 70.3 Luxembourg in 2016 and fifth place at Ironman 70.3 in 2018. Kraichgau achieved their two best results so far. In July 2019, the then 32-year-old was sixth at the Ironman Hamburg .
Katharina Grohmann is trained by Utz Brenner . She lives in Bad Vilbel near Frankfurt am Main .
