The Rothsee- Triathlon place annually since 1989 in Middle Franconia in and around the eponymous Rothsee instead.

The Rothsee Triathlon is usually held at the end of June two weeks before the Challenge Roth (from 1988 to 2001 Ironman Europe ) and has always had an international field.
The participant limit is currently 1440 individual starting places for the short distance on Sunday plus 192 relay starting places as well as 600 starting places in the school, youth, popular sports and sprint triathlon held on Saturdays . Also on the Saturday of the event, the 2nd Bundesliga South starts with women's and men's teams.

The race was organized until 2016 by the gymnastics and sports community 08 Roth (TSG 08 Roth e.V.) as the host club. TSG 08 Roth Service GmbH has been in charge since 2017. Frank Kräker and Matthias Fritsch, who are also the two main organizers, act as managing directors. The event's title sponsor is currently Memmert GmbH + Co. KG , a manufacturer of temperature control technology from Schwabach .
The 30th Rothsee Triathlon was held on 16./17. June 2018. The 32nd edition, originally planned for June 21, 2020, was canceled as part of the COVID-19 pandemic .
Winners list
The most successful starter is Anja Beranek with nine wins (most recently in 2018) ahead of local hero Dagmar Matthes with five wins (most recently in 2005).
In the men's category , Andreas Dreitz (most recently in 2015), Marcus Schattner (most recently in 2007) and the American Chris McCormack (most recently in 2006) can each look back on four wins.
