Sebastian Neef (born February 7, 1989 in Regensburg ) is a German triathlete and German runner-up in the long-distance triathlon (2017).
Career
Sebastian Neef was active as a cyclist for VC Regensburg in 2007 and 2008 .
Professional triathlete since 2013
Since 2013 he has started as a professional triathlete and is doing a teaching degree for sport and English at the same time.
In March 2015, he competed in a cross triathlon race in the Xterra series (swimming, mountain biking and cross-country running) in Costa Rica for the first time and finished fourth.
In August he won the Regensburg Triathlon for the fourth time in a row . Four weeks later at the Ironman 70.3 World Championship in Salzburg he had to end his race early on the running track.
In June 2016 he won the Alpine Triathlon on the Olympic distance (1.5 km swimming, 40 km cycling and 10 km running). In September he was twelfth at the European Championships on the triathlon half-distance.
He starts for Tri Star Regensburg and the Skinfit Racing Tri Team .
German runner-up triathlon long distance 2017
At the Challenge Regensburg in August 2017, he was German runner-up in the long-distance triathlon.
In July 2018, the then 29-year-old was able to win the short-distance Alpine triathlon on Schliersee for the second time after 2016 . In the 2020 season he will start together with Roman Deisenhofer for the newly founded Spoosty pro.tri.team .
