Arthur Carl Rentel

Arthur Rentel (born October 1, 1869 in Balga ; † 1951 ) was a German administrative officer and insurance manager.

Life

After graduating from secondary school and a year later at the humanistic grammar school in Elbing, Rentel studied law and economics at the University of Greifswald and the Albertus University of Königsberg . He became a member of the Corps Borussia Greifswald (1890) and the Corps Hansea Königsberg (1891). In 1899 he was promoted to Dr. iur. PhD. He served as a one-year volunteer and was later promoted to captain of the reserve. After taking the major state examination, he worked as a lawyer at the courts and public prosecutor's offices in Elbing, Danzig and Szczecin. In 1906 he was appointed public prosecutor in Szczecin. In 1908 he moved to the administration of the Pomerania province , where he was elected to the provincial council after a few months. There he was employed as a department head and later conductor of the Pomeranian Fire Society and the Pomeranian Provincial Life Insurance Institute. During the First World War he took a position as captain in the reserve. D. participated in a reserve field artillery regiment. In 1926, when the insurance companies were transformed into independent corporations under public law , he was elected general director of both insurance companies. Rentel was a member of various boards of trustees, the supervisory board of the non-profit Pomeranian Landgesellschaft, after he had also been its managing director for a short time, and the supervisory board of the non-profit Pomeranian home.
