Andreas Dreitz (born December 31, 1988 in Lichtenfels ) is a German triathlete . He is the Ironman winner (2017) and is included in the best list of German triathletes on the Ironman distance .

Career

Andreas Dreitz finished seventh at the Ironman 70.3 European Championship in August 2013 .

Triathlon professional since 2014

He has started as a triathlon professional since 2014 and in April he won the Challenge Fuerteventura with the fastest cycling time of the day . In May, the Bayreuth from Mallorca also won his first victory at half the Ironman distance (1.9 km swimming, 90 km cycling and 21.1 km running).

In December he finished second behind Michael Raelert at the Challenge Bahrain . In this race, which was held for the first time, the highest prize money to date was paid out and Dreitz secured US $ 50,000 in second place in a very strong field.

In May 2015 he started as defending champion at Ironman 70.3 Mallorca and was able to successfully repeat his victory from the previous year. In August he finished ninth in the middle distance in the Ironman 70.3 World Championship in the Austrian province of Salzburg as part of the Ironman 70.3 Zell am See-Kaprun .

At his first start on the long distance he won the Ironman Italy .

In July 2018 he finished second in the Challenge Roth after a personal best in long distance in 7:53:06 h and was eighth in the best list of German triathletes on the Ironman distance . Andreas Dreitz starts for the SV Bayreuth club and the Erdinger alcohol-free team . He lives in Michelau in Upper Franconia . At the Challenge Roth in July 2018, Dreitz achieved second place behind Sebastian Kienle with a total time of 7:53:06 hours - his personal best . At the Challenge Herning in Denmark two weeks earlier, Dreitz won the middle distance in 3:47:12 hours.

At Ironman 70.3 Marbella, Andreas Dreitz was on the winning course for a long time in 2018, but was then caught and came in third with a time of 3:58:43 hours.
