Jonathan Zipf (born June 20, 1986 in Herbolzheim-Broggingen ) is a German triathlete , vice world champion of juniors in 2005 and German champion (triathlon 2013, duathlon 2017).

Career

In 2003 Jonathan Zipf took part in the European Championship for the first time. In September 2005, Jonathan Zipf was runner-up in the junior triathlon world championship in Japan.

He is a member of the sports promotion Mainz of the German Federal Armed Forces (staff sergeant) and has represented the EJOT team TV Buschhütten in the Bundesliga since January 2010 . Before that he started for the Hansgrohe Black Forest team . In 2010 Zipf took part again in the French club championship series Lyonnaise des Eaux . In Beauvais (June 13, 2010), the only Lyonnaise triathlon that Zipf competed in 2010, he finished 14th and was the second best in his club.

In August 2011 he became German triathlon runner-up on the sprint distance.

In the ranking of the 2011 ITU World Championship series on the short distance, he was twelfth as the best German.

German champion triathlon 2013

In August 2013, Zipf was German triathlon champion on the Olympic distance (1.5 km swimming, 40 km cycling and 10 km running) in Hanover.

Injury 2014

After having to take a break for almost a year due to health reasons, Jonathan Zipf was nominated for the 2015 season with special status in the national team of the DTU .

In May 2016, he finished 18th as the best German at the European Triathlon Championships. He finished the 2016 World Championship racing series as the second-best German in 26th place, but was no longer nominated for the squad in 2017.

In April 2017, the then 30-year-old became the German champion in the short distance duathlon. In August he was also able to get the runner-up championship on the triathlon sprint distance.
