Raphaël Montoya (born November 24, 1995 in Nice ) is a French triathlete , junior world champion (2014) and U23 world triathlon champion (2017).

Career

Raphaël Montoya started triathlon when he was 13.

In June 2013 he became the French junior national champion on the triathlon sprint distance (750 m swimming, 20 km cycling and 5 km running). As a 17-year-old he finished fourth at the Junior World Championships in London.

Junior World Champion Triathlon 2014

In June 2014 he was able to repeat the success of the previous year and was again junior national champion. In August he became World Triathlon Champion in Canada in the Juniors (750 m swim, 20.9 km bike and 5.4 km run).

Vice European Triathlon Champion 2016

In June 2017, he was runner-up in Europe on the short Olympic distance (1.5 km swimming, 40 km cycling and 10 km running) in Kitzbühel.

U23 world champion triathlon 2017

In September 2017, the then 21-year-old became the U23 world champion in the Netherlands.
