She also works at the German Arbitration Institute (DIS).

Activities as an athlete and sports official

Claudia Wisser was active as an endurance athlete in numerous running events up to and including marathons . In 1997 she started triathlon and competed in long-distance competitions up to the Ironman Hawaii and until 2007 in the triathlon Bundesliga a . a. together with Daniela Sämmler in the team at TuS Griesheim . From 2006 onwards she was a member of the presidium of the German Triathlon Union (DTU) as a woman warden. In February 2008 she became Vice President and from November 2008 she was President of the DTU.

In July 2009, Wisser was elected to the Executive Board of the European Triathlon Union at the ETU Congress in Holten, the Netherlands , of which she was a member until 2011.

In terms of sport, the DTU was highly successful in this phase with Daniel Unger's World Championship in 2007 and Jan Frodeno's gold medal in Beijing in 2008 , but it made even more headlines due to financial difficulties. The president Klaus Müller-Ott , who was voted out in February 2008, was accused of embezzlement due to unexplained expense reports in the six-figure amount as well as the delay in bankruptcy with regard to the DTU subsidiary Triathlon Event GmbH (TEG), which he founded. In her function as Vice President Law for the DTU, Wisser filed a criminal complaint against Müller-Ott. A few days after her election as president, the DTU managing director was dismissed without notice. B. was accused of having received more than 180,000 euros for his work at a marketing subsidiary of the DTU in addition to his full-time work for the DTU. Wisser banned the DTU cash auditor, who is also an advisory board member of the TEG, has been president and vice-president of Müller-Otts home association for over 16 years and was an opposing candidate in Wisser's presidential election. Instead, investigations by PwC and the Federal Office of Administration requested by Wisser both came to the conclusion that the association had "been run down over the years". This was followed by lengthy legal disputes, which for Müller-Ott ended in a suspension of the proceedings and, with regard to the former managing director, with a lost labor court process for the DTU and a subsequent settlement.

To resolve the DTU's financial crisis, Wisser u. a. a new regulation of the tax code for the organizers. Although Wisser succeeded in restructuring the DTU financially, it was not without controversy within the association: One point of criticism was, for example, that there had been a liaison between her and her Vice President, who was responsible for finances, which led to the allegation of a lack of transparency in the management of the DTU. One of the key figures in the dispute was the honorary president of the DTU, Martin Engelhardt , who was therefore accused in an open letter by the other German state associations of causing damage to the sports association. Before the Association Day in November 2010, Claudia Wisser and her Vice President Finance Ralf Eckert resigned.

When the athlete Rebecca Robisch - although the best-placed German in the international ranking - was not considered for the nomination by the DTU for the 2016 Olympic Games , she turned to the Sports Arbitration Court, where Claudia Wisser confirmed her opinion as a judge.
