Sophie Coldwell (born February 25, 1995 in Gravesend ) is a British triathlete . She is ETU European champion on the triathlon sprint distance (2018).

Career

Sophie Coldwell grew up in Nottingham and started her first triathlon when she was 8 years old. She is trained by Adam Elliott .

In 2012 she became National Junior Vice-Champion Duathlon. In April 2012, she finished fourth at the European Junior Triathlon Championships. In 2015 she became National Champion Triathlon Sprint Distance.

In June 2017 Sophie Coldwell was runner-up in the European triathlon short distance (1.5 km swimming, 40 km cycling and 10 km running) and in September she was third at the U23 World Triathlon Championship in Rotterdam.

The then 23-year-old became European champion on the triathlon sprint distance in July 2018.

Sophie Coldwell lives in Loughborough .
