Declan Rice (born January 14, 1999 in London ) is an English - Irish football player . He has played for the English first division club West Ham United since 2014 . He is a former Irish and current England international.

Club career

Declan Rice joined Chelsea FC youth in his hometown in 2006 . Eight years later he moved to that of city rivals West Ham United . Two years after his move, he was used for the first time in the club's second team when he was called up in the starting line-up on August 13, 2016 in the away game at the U23 of Stoke City . In the same season he made his debut in professional football by substituting on May 21, 2017 (38th matchday) in stoppage time of the league game at Burnley FC .

National team

Between 2015 and 2018, the native of England, whose grandparents came from Cork, Ireland , initially competed in the selection of the Irish Association .

On February 13, 2019, he announced that he wanted to play for the English national team in the future. For this he made his debut in a 5-0 home win over the Czech Republic on March 22, 2019.
