Ryan Marlowe Fredericks (born October 10, 1992 in London ) is an English football player who plays as a full-back for the Premier League club West Ham United .

Club career

Fredericks was born in Hammersmith, London. Fredericks joined the Tottenham Hotspur Youth Academy in July 2009 . He signed a professional contract with the club in July 2010. In July 2011, Fredericks received a new contract with the club. For the first team of Spurs, however, he only played in the Europa League . While under contract there, he made guest appearances on loan for Brentford FC (2012), Millwall FC (2014) and Middlesbrough FC (2014-2015).

On August 6, 2015, Fredericks moved to Bristol City in the Football League Championship and signed a three-year contract there. After only twenty-six days at the club and only five appearances in all competitions, he moved to Fulham FC due to personal differences . Here he was able to achieve his final breakthrough in professional football and establish himself in the starting XI. In his first season, Fredericks made 36 appearances for Fulham. In the 2017/18 season he was promoted to the Premier League in his third season with Fulham and was elected to the team of the season of the EFL Championship.

Since he did not renew his contract with Fulham, which expired in 2018, there was a free transfer to West Ham United. On June 5, 2018, he signed a four-year contract there. He made his debut on August 12, 2018 in a 4-0 loss to Liverpool FC . He scored his first goal for West Ham in an 8-0 League Cup win over Macclesfield Town on September 26, 2018.

National team

Fredericks made a single appearance for the England U19 team in 2011 in a 3-0 loss to the Netherlands. Because of his parentage, he could also play for Guyana .

Others

He was district champion in the 100-meter run and long jump and, as a teenager, could have aspired to a career in athletics .
