Mark James Noble (born May 8, 1987 in Newham , London ) is an English football player. The midfielder is currently under contract with West Ham United in the Premier League .

Career

At the age of only 17 Noble made his debut on August 24, 2004 for the then second division West Ham United in a league cup game against Southend United and on January 15, 2005 in the championship in a 2: 4 defeat at Wolverhampton Wanderers . By the end of the season he came to a total of 13 appearances in the Football League Championship .

After West Ham's rise to the Premier League, he was initially used in the games against Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United . In 2006, the club loaned him to Hull City , where Noble, however, struggled with injury problems and for this reason returned to London after only four games. He ended the season there with only five first division appearances.

With coach Alan Pardew he had a great advocate, but overall - despite a few games in the central midfield position - even in the 2005/06 season he could not recommend himself to a fixed position as a regular player. In August 2006 he was loaned again to a second division and came for Ipswich Town on September 12, 2006 in the 2-1 home win over Coventry City to his first goal in a competitive game. The three-month loan period was so positive that Ipswich coach Jim Magilton considered a permanent commitment, especially since Pardew has now been replaced by Alan Curbishley .

In the 2007/08 season Noble fought for a regular place and was considered one of the climbers of the season.

On November 29, 2014, Noble overtook Steve Potts as the West Ham player with the most Premier League appearances. The game against Newcastle United was his 205th Premier League game for the club and his 300th game for the "Irons".
